The project at Axminster Road consisted of the reorganisation of the living spaces on the ground floor of a terrace house, principally moving the existing kitchen into an enlarged rear extension and therefore creating a double living room to the front of the house. The design of a split level roof differentiates the two functions of the new open plan extension – one lower flat roof, more intimate side for the kitchen with bay window breakfast seating to the garden and one taller lighter monopitch volume to dining room with large roof lights above.
