MILLENDREATH WATERFRONT
CONTRACT VALUE: £6 MILLION
LOCATION: LOOE, CORNWALL
CLIENT: PRIVATE
CONTRACT PERIOD: 2010- 2014
This luxury coastal development consists of 14 detached holiday houses and a full residential unit on a beautiful steeply sloping site near Looe overlooking the private beach at Millendreath. The project forms one of the initial stages of the Millendreath Development Masterplan by LDA which will see the wider regeneration of the existing holiday resort and surrounding valley landscape.

The proposal puts forward a contemporary take on a traditional Cornish seaside village, siting the houses in an organic plan stepping up the slope, angling each property with the view out to sea. This is a unique opportunity to have these houses right on the beach on the site of the former 1960s holiday pavilion. The clean sleek lines of the minimalist form will be built with traditional materials and colour palette using white handmade bricks for the walls and dark slate for the pitched roofs. To provide contrast, two of the more inland units will be square in plan and proposed in a dark handmade facing brick.
