Mador Architects have developed proposals for new wildlife park and eco-home residential development on a piece of environmentally degraded and underperforming Metropolitan Open Land in South London.

The existing layout currently cuts off the local residential area from the Pool River Linear Park and the proposal would transform the experience of the city for the local residents by integrating the area with currently inaccessible natural resources as well as a brand new life of total landscape rewilding and renewal of the low wildlife diversity of redundant playing fields. We worked with landscape architects Bradley Murphy in evolving a fully integrated architecture and landscape scheme.
The 200-dwelling residence is made up of mixed tenure housing including maximum possible affordable housing.
At pre-app the proposal was celebrated by the Planning Officer as an exemplary project of the sort that they would like to see and promote in the borough. Consultation with wider network of stakeholders is underway for this major piece of urban/landscape renewal.
