TREALY PAVILION

CONTRACT VALUE: £130,000
LOCATION: TREALY FARM, MONMOUTHSHIRE
CLIENT: R. TUDOR
CONTRACT PERIOD: 2011 - 2012

A two storey pavilion building on a steeply sloping site, encloses an classroom space, sauna and biomass boiler. It was constructed at Trealy Farm, a working farm known for its rare breeds and artisanal charcuterie products.

At first floor level, the pavilion creates a new multi-function space for activities such as a meat course which teaches participants about rearing animals for meat as well local school visits to teach children about farming and animals first hand.

At ground level, there is a biomass boiler which replaces the traditional energy source of this working family farm and home as well as a sauna which benefits from the local heat production. The pavilion is clad in traditional hand made cedar shingles and offers spectacular views over the landscape.
